UTH (Lusaka, Zambia) first PediCAP site to obtain all approvals

We are glad to announce that at University Teaching Hospital (Lusaka, Zambia) the PediCAP trial protocol has recently obtained the last required approval. The UTH team has been working on ethics and regulatory submissions since last December 2019, and thanks to their commitment and to the support of MRC CTU and of Saint George’s University they have received all approvals from the local Ethical Committee, Regulatory and National boards between March and June 2020.
Zambia is still facing COVID-19, but the restrictive measures in place have been recently eased. In this scenario, Lusaka Children’s Hospital is now setting up the trial team, with the goal of starting recruitment in early autumn 2020.
